Cookies

Please refer to our cookie policy for more information about our use of cookies.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

To be more specific, we use social feed plugins for Facebook and Google+ to display social media content on our website. As a result, our website makes requests to both Facebook and Google servers in order to display text and images. These requests make your IP address visible to these third parties. To learn more about how these organisations might use your data, please refer to the Facebook Data Policy and the Google Privacy & Terms Policy.

Tracking and remarketing

We use Google Analytics to collect anonymised data about how this website is being used. We use this data to monitor the performance of our website and to inform decisions we make about how to improve the site for visitors. For the avoidance of doubt, the Google Analytics Terms of Use prohibit the collection of personally identifiable information, therefore, we do not and cannot collect any data of this nature using this software.

We use Google Analytics third-party audience data such as age, gender, and interests to gain a better understanding of our customers. We work with companies that collect information about your online activities so that we can provide advertising intended to suit your interests and preferences.

The data we collect about your online activities does not personally or directly identify you. This principle holds true whether you visit our website or the websites and online services where we display our advertisements (“Publishers”).

The information we collect may include the content you view, the date and time that you view this content, the products you purchase, or your location information associated with your IP address. We use the information we collect to serve you more relevant advertisements (referred to as “Retargeting” or “Remarketing”). We also collect information about where you saw the ads we serve you and which ads you clicked on.

Our website also uses the Facebook pixel to collect data on visitor behaviour. This includes information about:

  • which pages are visited
  • what kind of device was used to view our website
  • what actions were taken by site visitors

This information may be used by Facebook to tailor the ads you see on their site in the future.

This information is typically collected using cookies. To find out more about how we use cookies on this website, you may also wish to read our cookie policy.

Opting out of tracking and remarketing

For an easy way to prevent any website that is using Google Analytics from tracking your visits you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

To stop any website from tracking your activities at all we’d recommend using a web browser such as Firefox, which includes Tracking Protection as a standard feature when browsing in Private Browsing mode. Read more about Firefox Tracking Protection. This website will respect the preferences of any visitor who has enabled “Do not track” in their browser settings.
